主讲人简介:

布鲁斯•约翰斯通(D.Bruce Johnstone),纽约州立大学杰出教授,福特基金“高等教育财政与入学的国际比较”项目负责人。曾任纽约州立大学总校校长、纽约州立大学布法罗学院院长、宾夕法尼亚大学副校长。

约翰斯通教授是世界知名的高等教育财政问题专家、世界银行顾问,是“高等教育成本分担(cost sharing)”理论的提出者(1986)。研究方向主要包括高等教育经济与财政、高等教育和高等院校管理、高等教育政策、高等教育的国际比较,已发表学术成果100多本(篇)。

约翰斯通教授曾担任美国教育委员会主席、高等教育研究学会主席、美国高等院校协会主席、美国州立高等院校协会主席、美国大学董事会主席、全国大学系统领导人协会主席,D'Youville College董事。被加利福尼亚州立大学圣地亚哥分校等高校授予荣誉博士学位。

        

         D. Bruce Johnstone is Distinguished Service Professor of the State University of New York and Director of Ford Foundation supported project - International Comparative Higher Education Finance and Accessibility. He was Chancellor of the State University of New York (1988-1994), President of State University College at Buffalo (1979-1988) and Vice President of University of Pennsylvania (1977-1979).

         Professor Johnstone is a well-known expert in higher education finance and project consultant of World Bank. He initiated the theory of higher education cost-sharing (1986). His research interests include but not limited to: Economics and finance of higher education; federal and state policies for higher education; higher education governance and leadership; comparative higher education; international comparative higher education finance and governance; student finance and loan policies. He has published more than 100 academic articles/books.

         Professor Johnstone served as Director of American Council on Education (1989-1992), Director of Association for the Study of Higher Education (1999-2001), Director of American Association of Colleges and Universities, (1997-2001), Director of American Association of State Colleges and Universities (1993-1994), Chairman of the College Board (1992-1994), President of National Association of System Heads (1992-1994), Trustee of D'Youville College. He was granted honorary doctorates from several universities (e.g. California State University at San Diego, 1997).
